When it gets cold, you’ve got a lot of different vacation options to choose from so that you can get away from it all. If you take the time to see what’s out there, you might find fun and sun in places that you didn’t expect. I’ve taken a lot of great vacations and I’ll be the first to tell you that you don’t have to pack into tourist-filled cities to find the best getaways in the country. In fact, some of the small towns and less popular destinations are actually going to be more enjoyable.
Check out different coastal cities in Florida. This is always a snowbird retreat, but there are some cities that are less touristy than others. If you can find a small town where you can blend in with the locals, you might be able to avoid that ‘tourist’ feeling and have a great time. Arizona is another great place to visit if you want fun and sun, although you’ll see more sand than water here. Nonetheless, a lot of people are turning to Arizona for tourism and relocation alike, and you should check it out for yourself.
A couple of other places I’ve visited that aren’t as popular among vacationers include places like small towns in California, South Carolina, and even Texas. I’ve been through a lot of them and you can find plenty to enjoy that’s a little more off the beaten path and not as tourist-centered as your current top 10 sunny getaways. It’s all about taking the time to look and see what’s out there. Look for little-known vacation spots and find cities that interest you, regardless of how popular they are.
When you’re looking to get away from the cold and beat the winter blues, a sunny vacation has a lot to offer. There’s a lot to love about the most popular vacation destinations, but there’s a lot more to see in this country than that. Explore the alternatives and find excursions that other people might not be taking to have a more relaxing, enjoyable time on your vacations and get out of the winter weather for awhile.
